Thai Basil is an essential ingredient in Thai, Vietnamese and Cambodian cuisines. Adds some anise-flavoured 'X-factor' to Thai green and red curries. The leaves retain their scent and taste with high cooking temperatures better than sweet basil varieties.
Sow direct where they are to grow. Cover lightly with Yates Black Magic Seed Raising Mix, firm down and keep moist. Plant in sun or semi-shade and keep well watered.
Frequent picking ensures continuous supply. Leaves can be dried for later use, or wrap sprigs in baking paper and plastic before freezing.
