Cosmos Sensation have single flower heads that grow up to 8 - 9 cm across in a range of reds, pinks and whites. The finely feathered foliage provides an attractive backdrop to lower growing plants. A half hardy annual which prefers a sunny position and relatively poor soil growing to a height of 90 - 120cm.
Sow in flowering position and thin as necessary. Deadhead to prolong flowering season. For even results in cooler conditions, sow 0.5cm deep in pots or trays of seed mix. Maintain gentle warmth 16C and keep moist. Thin (prick out) to other trays when seedlings are large enough to handle. Harden off before planting out in late spring spacing 45cm apart. Plant in spring to late summer.
