Sow 25mm deep in dark, damp soil and avoid watering for a day or two afterwards. Ensure soil has been well prepared with organic compost and aged animal manure.
Sow 7-10cm apart, allowing 50cm between rows. Ensure the danger of frosts has passed and protect plants from the wind. Plant in 3-5 metre rows and remove weeds regularly.
Water well during dry periods. Additional fertilising is not required as legumes produce their own nitrogen.
Regular harvesting will result in continued yields.
Plant in Spring and Summer; Autumn too in warmer zones.
