Peas Sugarsnap Climbing is an early maturing bush that produces both peas and pods that are sweet, juicy and flavoursome, and can be eaten whole when young or shelled when mature. Best picked young and lightly steamed or added to stir-fries.
Choose a sunny, well-drained position. Sow into damp soil direct where they are to grow. Cover with Yates Black Magic Seed Raising Mix and firm down. Do not water for a couple of days after sowing. Pick young peas regularly for maximum yield and flavour.
Great companion plant for beans, broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, cabbage, celery, lettuce and radish.
Avoid overwatering seeds, as they may rot before germination if soil is too wet. Water at the base of the plant, rather than overhead, to minimise risk of disease.
At the end of the harvest, dig spent plants into the soil to add extra organic nitrogen.
Germination 7 - 10 days | maturity 8 - 10 weeks
