Did you know roses make delicious jam? Try making your own with our recipe below.
Method
1. Collect 2 cups of rose petals, simmer in a pot with 1 3/4 cups of water, don’t worry when the petals start to lose their colour, there is magic still to happen!
2. Add in 1 1/2 cups of sugar and stir.
3. Add in about 3 tablespoons of freshly squeezed lemon juice and stir.
4. Mix 1/4 cup sugar with 1 teaspoon of pectin and add to the simmering petals to thicken. Simmer for a further 20 minutes.
5. Place the jam in jars and refrigerate. The jam will thicken once cooled.
Enjoy over vanilla ice cream, on toast, swirl into yogurt, or dollop onto pancakes – you will find so many ways to enjoy this jam!
